At last – an instruction manual for parenting really does exist

With instruction manuals for just about everything on the market, a new book about parenting from a Gold Coast mother of four is set to provide some relief to struggling parents.

Many burning questions are answered and the essential psychology underpinning good parenting practice is unveiled with the launch of author Kerri Yarsley’s The Instruction Manual for Kids – Parent’s Edition.

School students to learn from game greats at 2012 Gold Coast RACV Australian Ladies Masters

Gold Coast and Brisbane have signed up this week to attend a special one-day workshop as part of Queensland’s richest women’s golfing tournament, the 2012 Gold Coast RACV Australian Ladies Masters.

The tournament’s education program on Friday 3, includes a Q&A session with 16-year-old US professional golfer Lexi Thompson, and will also allow students to see the players in action.

SIX months ago, Bernard Harrison, 86, spotted 84-year-old Madge Buchanan across a crowded community room at Tall Trees Tanah Merah, and the couple have been finishing each other’s sentences ever since.

Korean sisters come down under for Sisters of Swing

CME Titleholders winner Hee Young Park and her younger sister Ju Young Park have travelled from Korea in preparation for the high profile Gold Coast RACV Australian Ladies Masters next week.

With the event on 2 to 5 February at Royal Pines, the Park sisters have come to the Gold Coast early to practice at local golf courses to be in fine form for the tournament.

New Redland men’s shed to offer local blokes a top quality facility

Aged care provider Tall Trees Redland Bay has established a feature-packed men’s shed on the neighbourhood’s grounds, filled it with tools, and is ready to open it up for the public to use.

Men’s sheds are established as places for men to congregate, with the convenience of having all of the facilities of a workshop without requiring the same outlay of cash.

Local economy to receive boost with 2012 Gold Coast RACV Australian Ladies Masters

Mr Tuohy says the Gold Coast RACV Australian Ladies Masters has traditionally drawn numbers exceeding 20,000 people to the coast in past years.

“The large number of guests in 2008 provided an economic value of $6.7 million with visitors racking up over 50,000 nights of accommodation on the Gold Coast as a result of the tournament,” Mr Tuohy says.
